WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WFMZ) – Residents of a senior living community in Lehigh County got to cheer on their home team Thursday night.
Fellowship Community in Whitehall Township hosted a pep rally for the Whitehall Zephyrs ahead of Friday’s football game against Nazareth.
“There’s a lot of Whitehall pride here among our residents,” said Mary Kay McMahon, Fellowship Community President and CEO.
The rally connected Zephyrs across generations and had residents reliving their high school days.
Whitehall alumna Caryle Hausman graduated in 1952 and will always root for her home team.
“They do a terrific job and they’re going to win too,” Hausman told us.
Hausman remembers attending football games more than 70 years ago!
“Our school didn’t look anything like you have now,” Hausman stated.
While the years fly by, that maroon and gold pride is never too far from home.
“Everyone pays attention to what’s happening with this football team and they track their progress all through the season and there is a lot of support that goes their way from our campus,” McMahon said. “I think it’s wonderful when the football players and cheerleaders come. There’s so much excitement and it’s a privilege to have them here.”
